I compose and write music. Mostly classical, jazz, Celtic, and traditional styles. But also funk and pop. I went to the University of Oregon for music performance studies and excelled in instrumental performance, improvisation, theory, and composition.
So true, so true, so true. And scroll down for original music
Written and composed by Jeremy Pickett. Heavily influenced by Edward Elgar, Gustav Holst, Franz Liszt, Nathaniel and Neil Gow, George Petrie, and many others. The suite is named after the town of Fort William, Scotland. Often seen as the gateway to the Scottish Highlands, and neighbor to the UK's tallest mountain, Ben Nevis. https://visitfortwilliam.co.uk/
This work would not have been possible without the generous friendship, emotional and spiritual support from JessieKCreative, / @jesskcreative
I used the absolute bananas out of the BBC Symphony orchestra patches, sounds, and samples. Envato Elements was instrumental for high quality, diverse footage. https://elements.envato.com
Patches and sounds are largely from Spitfire Audio. Many of the Spitfire labs collections are absolutely free. I can't think of a single reason to not use Labs, except perhaps that it serves as a compelling gateway for even better sounds, patches, plugins, and libraries.

For a DAW I use a combination of Audacity (http://www.audacityteam.org) and Waveform (https://www.tracktion.com ). I do not exploit all of the multitude of tools each package has to offer, but the combination of these three suites has been an absolute creative blessing.
The MIDI controller I use is an Akai MINI MPK (https://www.amazon.com/Akai-Professio..., and does exactly what it is supposed to do.
For microphones I use a Yeticaster (https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Yeticaste...) I am old enough to remember when Blue microphones cost more than most automobiles. The Yeti is a marvel of quality for the price.
Whistles and Irish instruments are from Carbony (https://carbony.com), guitars by Guild, Polk Audio bookshelf speakers for monitors, and OneOdio headphones (https://www.amazon.com/OneOdio-Adapte...)
Regardless of gear, you can make amazing music with a tin can and a harmonica. Never let the trappings of music deter you from making music.
This is the first side of an EP, inspired by Gaelic and celtic music. It mixes traditional tunes and modern orchestration. Written, performed, recorded, and engineered by Jeremy Pickett.
